Inclusions
Arrive at Leh Airport, where you’ll be greeted and transferred to your hotel. Spend the day resting to allow your body to acclimatize to the high altitude of Ladakh. In the evening, you may take a gentle stroll around the nearby market.
After breakfast, begin your journey towards Uleytokpo, visiting Likir Monastery, the mysterious Magnetic Hill, the inspiring Hall of Fame Museum, and the sacred Gurudwara Pathar Sahib en route. After lunch, continue towards Lamayuru Monastery, one of Ladakh’s oldest and most picturesque monasteries, and marvel at the surreal Moonland landscapes. Arrive in Kargil by evening and check in to your hotel.
After breakfast, drive to Drass, known as the second coldest inhabited place in the world, and take in its stark mountain beauty. After sightseeing, begin your return journey to Leh, stopping en route to explore Basgo Palace & Monastery and the historic Alchi Monastery. Upon arrival in Leh, visit the vibrant Leh Market, the royal Leh Palace, and the serene Shanti Stupa for panoramic sunset views over the city.
After breakfast, begin your journey to Nubra Valley, famously known as the Valley of Flowers and the warmest region in Ladakh, via the legendary Khardung La Pass – the world’s highest motorable road at 18,390 ft. En route, soak in breathtaking views of endless snow-capped peaks. Spend some time at the pass before continuing towards Nubra, with optional adventure stops for an ATV ride (direct payment). Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and visit the towering 108 ft. Maitreya Buddha Statue at Diskit Monastery. In the evening, head to the enchanting Hunder Sand Dunes to experience a unique double-humped camel ride and admire panoramic views of the valley
After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Turtuk, a remote village that opened to tourists only in 2010. Once under Pakistan’s control until 1971, Turtuk is now a strategically important area and the last outpost in India before the Pakistan-controlled Gilgit-Baltistan region begins. This picturesque village is home to the Balti community, where locals speak Balti, Ladakhi, and Urdu. Stroll through its charming lanes, visit the Balti Heritage House & Museum, and witness the serene beauty of the Turtuk Waterfalls. Continue onwards to Thang (Zero Point), the northernmost village of India, located just 2.2 km from the Line of Control, where you can see both Indian and Pakistani bunkers. Here, the Shyok River flows into Pakistan, offering a striking view of the border landscape.
We will start the day following the same route towards Leh till we reach Khalsar. From the Agyam Bridge, we will take the left route which leads us to the villages of Shyok and Durbuk. The road after Shyok is good but very steep. After Durbuk, take left towards Tangtse and follow the traditional route. Drive further to Pangong Lake, one of the largest and most beautiful natural brackish lakes in the Himalayas. Situated at 14,000 ft., more than half of the lake is within Chinese Territory and only one-third part lies in India. Explore the lake area, and you might catch some rare wildlife. Spend some time around the lake, visit the “3 Idiots” shooting point, and try local food at any of the small restaurants around the lakeshore. Later, enjoy some leisure time watching the colour-changing lake and sunset from the banks. Stay overnight in Pangong.
Early morning, enjoy the picturesque view of sunrise over the lake. After breakfast, drive back to Leh. En route, take a short halt at Changla Pass to enjoy a cup of hot steaming tea. Continue your journey to Leh. Stay overnight in Leh.
Early morning, transfer to Leh Airport to board your flight for your onward destination. Journey ends with sweet memories of Ladakh.
- Acclimatization is Key: Leh is located at an altitude of around 11,500 ft, so rest well on Day 1 and avoid strenuous activity to adapt to the thin air.
- Carry Valid ID Proof: Inner Line Permits may be required for Nubra Valley and Pangong Lake; keep multiple photocopies of your ID.
- Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water, herbal tea, or soups to prevent altitude sickness. Avoid alcohol on the first day.
- Pack Warm Clothing: Even in summer, nights are cold. Carry thermal wear, jackets, gloves, and woolen caps, especially for Khardung La and Pangong Lake.
- Cash is Essential: ATMs are available only in Leh town. Carry enough cash for remote areas like Nubra Valley and Pangong.
- Photography Readiness: Keep extra batteries and memory cards as cold weather drains battery life faster.
- Travel Light but Smart: Include sunscreen, sunglasses, lip balm, and moisturizer to protect against sunburn and dryness.
- Adventure Activities: Activities like camel rides, ATV rides, or rafting are optional and payable directly at the site.
- Mobile Connectivity: Only postpaid SIM cards work in Ladakh; BSNL and Jio have better coverage in some areas.
- Respect Local Culture: Dress modestly at monasteries, remove shoes before entering prayer halls, and ask before photographing locals.
