Upon arrival at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, Leh, our representative will greet you and assist with your transfer to the hotel. Check in and enjoy a warm welcome drink (tea/coffee) served by the hotel staff. Today is reserved entirely for acclimatization to the high altitude of Ladakh (11,500 ft / 3,500 m). It’s important to rest and allow your body to adapt, ensuring a comfortable journey ahead. Spend the day relaxing at the hotel, taking in your first glimpses of the breathtaking mountain vistas. In the evening, you can enjoy a gentle stroll around the hotel surroundings.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and set out to explore the cultural and natural highlights of Leh and Sham Valley. Visit Leh Market, a vibrant hub for local handicrafts and souvenirs, followed by the historic Leh Palace, offering panoramic views of the town and surrounding mountains. Discover the serene Shanti Stupa, a symbol of peace and spirituality, then head towards Magnetic Hill, a fascinating spot where vehicles appear to defy gravity. Pay respects at Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, a revered Sikh shrine, and explore the Hall of Fame Museum, dedicated to the valor of the Indian Army. End the day at the stunning Sangam, where the emerald-green Zanskar River meets the deep-blue Indus River, creating a breathtaking natural spectacle.

Begin your journey to Nubra Valley, also known as the Valley of Flowers and the warmest region in Ladakh, traveling via the iconic Khardung La Pass. This legendary route is recognized as one of the highest motorable roads in the world at an altitude of 18,390 feet, offering spectacular views of endless snow-clad mountain ranges. Pause to take in the panoramic scenery at Khardung La before continuing towards Nubra. Along the way, optional adventure activities like ATV rides can be enjoyed (on direct payment basis). Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and set out to explore the region. Visit the majestic 108 ft. high Maitreya Buddha Statue at Diskit Monastery, offering a peaceful spiritual atmosphere along with sweeping valley views. Continue to the enchanting Hunder Sand Dunes, where you can experience a unique double-humped camel ride (on direct payment basis) and admire the striking landscapes of Nubra Valley.

The journey from Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake begins by retracing the route towards Leh until Khalsar, where the road turns towards Agyam Bridge. From here, the route passes through the charming villages of Shyok and Durbuk, offering breathtaking views of rugged mountains and remote Ladakhi landscapes. The road beyond Shyok is steep yet rewarding, with each bend revealing new panoramas. After Durbuk, follow the traditional route via Tangtse to reach Pangong Lake, one of the largest and most stunning brackish lakes in the Himalayas, situated at 14,000 feet. This mesmerizing lake is shared between India and China, with only one-third lying within Indian territory. Spend time exploring the lake’s serene shores, visit the famous 3 Idiots movie shooting point, and try delicious local food at small eateries along the lakeside. The changing colors of the lake and the spectacular sunset create a magical experience.

Begin the day soaking in the tranquil beauty of Pangong Lake as the rising sun casts golden hues over its shimmering waters. Depart for Leh, traveling via the spectacular Chang La Pass, one of the highest motorable mountain passes in the world, where you can pause to admire the views and enjoy a cup of steaming hot tea. En route, visit Shey Palace, the ancient capital of Ladakh, known for its hilltop location and impressive copper-gilded Buddha statue. Continue to Thiksey Monastery, an architectural masterpiece resembling the Potala Palace of Lhasa, home to stupas, statues, thangkas, and intricate wall paintings. The journey also includes a stop at Hemis Monastery, built in 1630, the largest and wealthiest monastery in Ladakh belonging to the Drukpa Kagyu order of Tibetan Buddhism. Its collection includes beautiful thangkas, rare statues, and historic artifacts. Arrive in Leh and check in to your hotel, with the remainder of the day at leisure to relax or explore the local market.

  • Acclimatization is Key: Leh is located at an altitude of around 11,500 ft, so rest well on Day 1 and avoid strenuous activity to adapt   to the thin air.
  • Carry Valid ID Proof: Inner Line Permits may be required for Nubra Valley and Pangong Lake; keep multiple photocopies of your ID.
  • Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water, herbal tea, or soups to prevent altitude sickness. Avoid alcohol on the first day.
  • Pack Warm Clothing: Even in summer, nights are cold. Carry thermal wear, jackets, gloves, and woolen caps, especially for Khardung La and Pangong Lake.
  • Cash is Essential: ATMs are available only in Leh town. Carry enough cash for remote areas like Nubra Valley and Pangong.
  • Photography Readiness: Keep extra batteries and memory cards as cold weather drains battery life faster.
  • Travel Light but Smart: Include sunscreen, sunglasses, lip balm, and moisturizer to protect against sunburn and dryness.
  • Adventure Activities: Activities like camel rides, ATV rides, or rafting are optional and payable directly at the site.
  • Mobile Connectivity: Only postpaid SIM cards work in Ladakh; BSNL and Jio have better coverage in some areas.
  • Respect Local Culture: Dress modestly at monasteries, remove shoes before entering prayer halls, and ask before photographing locals.
